Open source models have existed for years alongside proprietary catastrophe models, and serve different parts of the insurance market. This roundtable discussion will tackle the current state of open source modeling, highlight where open source tools can be unique contributors, discuss ongoing challenges in development and adoption, and consider where proprietary models may be a better fit.
